JUICEBLENDZ Founder Adam Ogden

Entrepreneur Adam Ogden – who sold his first successful smoothie chain while still in his twenties – is poised to lead a revolution in health-conscious South Florida’s smoothie market.

Ogden calls himself the “top banana” of his newly formed franchise, JUICEBLENDZ. The South Florida chain has already sold hotspot locales in Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Naples.

“We’re very excited to have awarded 16 franchises to date,” says Ogden, now 30. “And we’ve done so with very little advertising. JUICEBLENDZ is a concept that our franchisees totally believe in.”

Ogden started the Weston, Florida business in 2004. He made his debut into the smoothie arena with a smoothie and juice bar he founded in Tallahassee, Florida nearly a decade ago. The Miami native blended his experience to develop JUICEBLENDZ, a modern smoothie spot that eschews sugar, chemicals and mixes – the common ingredients found in the cups at most smoothie chains.

“There’s a cultural revolution happening,” says Ogden. “People are becoming more conscious of what they eat. We’re filling a need in an already established industry, but one that provides a natural, healthy alternative.”

Ogden, who modestly credits his success to a quality management team and still consults with a former college professor, believes JUICEBLENDZ is “positioned to be the Starbucks of the future.”

Ogden began selling his vitamins and supplements line, D&A Nutrition, to his personal training clients while still a business student at Florida State University in Tallahassee. That line enjoys continued success, and is cross-marketed with the JUICEBLENDZ franchise.

The JUICEBLENDZ flagship store in Weston, Florida opened in 2005. Thanks to its loyal customers, many of whom stop in daily, sales have exceeded expectations.
